Reordering Bulletin 14 (July August Magazine)

The PCC unanimously accepted The Statement of Needs and Statement of Significance at its meeting on 7th June. Copies of the Statements are being distributed at the same time as the magazine

The Statements have been sent to the Diocesan Advisory Committee (DAC) for comment and advice. They have also been sent to Julian Limentani, our Architect. He has been asked to interpret how the needs might be met and to set out work to achieve our aims.

Ideas still welcome

Your active participation in the reordering process remains the key to success. Input from the congregation and the various PCC committees and groups have driven the task so far – thank you for your thoughtful contributions. Your comments and ideas are still welcome at any stage. Do share them with the Reordering Group as you have done so generously so far, mindful that reordering is about using our building to the best of its potential so that everyone we share it with may be inspired and directed to God in Christ.

We recognise the importance of keeping information flowing to you and will continue to post updates via the magazine.

Meanwhile, please continue to remember the reordering process in your prayers.

Reordering Bulletin 13

The Reordering Group met on 15th March. This was a significant meeting as we finalised the two documents that will be presented to the PCC for consideration at their June meeting. These are the Statement of Significance and The Statement of Needs. They do not offer proposals but are needs identified after wide consultation with the PCC committees and other groups.

It is up to the PCC to decide how to respond. If the PCC agrees, both statements will be submitted to the Diocese for comment. Only then will our architect be asked to develop ideas as to how our needs could be met.

Part of the consultation process was last March when everyone in our congregation was invited to come and share in the process and feed back their views. Bill Croft said then that the church building is one resource among many which serves the God-given mission of the Church and care should be taken to think through whether it is best serving the needs of the Church. This has been the main concern of the Reordering Group as we have met over the last two years.

We have opened each meeting with a special prayer – please continue to pray and reflect on what we think we are as a Church and what we think the Church should be doing.
